Paul Cosenza, LADC1

Many people seek counseling in search of advice, guidance, and an objective perspective. After years of feeling lost, confused, or unappreciated, sometimes what we truly need is an empathetic ear to help us process and better understand our life experiences. Questions such as “How did I get here?”, “Who am I?”, and “How do I move forward?” are often at the heart of that journey.

My own life journey began without much of a plan. After serving 20 years in the United States Air Force, followed by several years working in the technology field, I decided to put my education to use. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology. Since 2001, I have worked as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. During that time, I have provided outpatient therapy for adults struggling with substance use disorders, as well as anxiety, depression, and PTSD that may have contributed to or continued alongside their recovery journey.

Mental health challenges are not limited to the recovery process. Many people struggle with everyday stressors involving work, family, relationships, grief, and loss. My approach is to meet you where you are in life and work collaboratively with you to make choices that support your well-being and self-esteem. I believe we all possess the capacity for growth and healing.

About Us

Our practice specializes in treating individuals. Through years of experience, we are confident that no problem is too great to overcome.

We began our business life as Health and Human Services LLC. It seemed like a great name at the time. However, we are now doing business as Compass Counseling. We think it better describes what we do and doesn’t confuse our business with the federal government agency, Health and Human Services.
