Whatever brought you here at this time, welcome. Life is unpredictable and just when we feel we have a grasp on our reality, it changes. It is normal to find yourself overwhelmed, anxious, or maybe even unable to identify what you’re feeling. Together we can work to give name to your emotions, identify what areas of your life are confusing or chaotic, and work toward achieving a better quality of life. I’m here to help build and develop your life ‘toolkit’ in a safe and honest space.
Since completing my master’s in counseling at Columbia University, I have worked in outpatient settings, intensive outpatient hospitalization programs, medication assisted treatment programs, and provided treatment within the prison system. Each setting has provided unique insight into the individuality of the person and allows me to bring a deep understanding of human nature to every session. I specialize working with teenagers, young adults, and older adults presenting with a variety of issues including substance use, anxiety, depression, dual-diagnosis, relationship issues, trauma, PTSD, and transition/adjustment issues. I have also obtained supplemental training and am a Certified Trauma Specialist.
Our session is your time. Each session will be tailored to fit your identified needs—this is something we will talk through at our first session to make sure you’re getting the best experience. During our sessions you can expect me to utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques, mindfulness exercises, and at times bring in my gentle humor. I look forward to being a part of your journey!
